This is a unique opportunity to network with local security professionals, hear directly from the State Security Chief, and experience how Utah protects one of its most important and historic facilities.<font style="font-size: 10px;"><br></font></p> <p>Our host for the day will be Matt Pennington, State Security Chief for the Utah Department of Public Safety and former South Jordan Police Lieutenant, where he served in law enforcement for more than 15 years after beginning his career with the Weber County Sheriff’s Office. In his current role, Chief Pennington was appointed as Utah’s first State Security Chief and is responsible for safety and security across state facilities and critical infrastructure statewide. He will share the mission of the State Security Office, discuss current challenges and successes, and provide insight into how his team is elevating security across Utah’s public institutions.<font style="font-size: 10px;"><br></font></p> <p>Following the luncheon and presentation, attendees will receive a guided tour of the Capitol complex with a special focus on the building’s security posture, protective strategies, and the State Capitol Security Operations Center.
